In 'Email Address', type in your name, followed by the '@' sign and then your domain name.

If this is the only e-mail account set up for your domain you can enter <anything>@your-domain.co.uk for the return address, otherwise enter the name you gave us.

Note: If you have asked for more than one of your POP accounts to be set up we would have used one of them as a 'catch-all' address. Any e-mail addressed to someone for whom there is no account set up for will get passed to the 'catch-all' account.

And that's it.

Well, almost. There are a couple of Eudora options menuother setting you should check.

With Eudora running go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Options'. On the left hand side of the window that pops up you will see a scrollable column of icons that give you access to the various settings.

In 'Options > Incoming Mail' make sure the 'Leave mail on server' option is un-ticked. If you leave the mail on the server your space allocation will fill up with old messages and, once full, any new messages will be returned to the sender.

Eudora is capable of sending, receiving and displaying e-mails in HTML format. While this does allow you to create and receive some very pretty looking messages it also poses a security risk by allowing viruses embedded in a message to get into your system.

If you are concerned about this we would recommend you:

  • Un-tick: Options > Viewing Mail > 'Allow executables in HTML content'
  • Tick: Options > Extra Warnings > 'Warn me when I "launch a program from a message"'

** Remember **
NEVER OPEN AN ATTACHMENT TO AN E-MAIL IF YOU'RE NOT SURE WHO IT IS FROM.

The rest of the options are a matter of personal preference although we would recommend you change the attachment directory 'Options > Attachments > Attachment Directory' to something other than the default \Eudora\Attach folder as an additional security measure.

Once you have finished, click on the 'OK' button to accept the settings.
